Sound Notifications on Entourage/Links for e mail addresses

I do not manage to obtain sound notifications on Entourage 2008 when I send or receive a message. Only when I open the software. Everything is ticked "by default", and I cannot change anything, except tick off, on "preferences"

Is there a way to get these sounds ?

By the way, i cannot either create a direct underlined and internet link , like Outlook Express, when I write a e mail address. Is there a specific function enabling that ?
