Sound on sound

Hello

I have PowerPoint 2000 and Vista. I shall be grateful if you will advise me
if, after setting up a tune in Slide Transition to play through the whole
slide show, there is a way to play a sound in one or more specific slides
without interfering with the original music.

For instance, I set up an instrumental music tune to play right through the
show, but on one slide I want to insert cheering just on that slide in
addition to the instrumental music [which can still be heard and will carry
on for the rest of the show].

I will use WAV files or MP3 files converted with Cdex.

I seem to remember that the abililty to play 2 sound clips at the same time
is dependent on your sound card.

Try it and see what happens

When I have the Windows Media Player playing music while I play games, sounds
from the games play on top of the music, they don't interrupt or stop it. If
this means my sound card is up to the job, please could you just spell out
what exact steps you envisage when you say "try it"? I need to have both
sounds embedded.

Thanks so much for your reply
