Sound problem in Outlook

How do I get a sound to play when a new message arrives?
The box to "play a sound when new items arrive" is checked
in Options/Email/Advanced options, but no sound. The
speakers are working just fine and the volume is turned
up. (I tested some .wav files using my media player and
they are audible.) Thanks, Carol

Go under your Sounds applet in Control Panel and choose a sound for the
New Mail Notification event. I can't to you exactly the navigational
path through the Start menu to get to your sounds applet because you did
not mention which verison of Windows that you use. You can pick the
sounds for each event, or you can select a theme (and still modify those
and save under a custom scheme name).
