sound recording in onenote

I am constantly having a problem getting the record notes function to work.
It has been updated to service pack 2.
The error message says I need to update Wmediaplayer and directx- both have
been updated several times I have WMP10 and latest DirectX but it still will
not work- any ideas anyone?

Sorry to see you alll alone out here -- although I really can't help, I can
say that I have ON sp2 and everything else up to date, but I use MPC instead
of WMP, on and everthing works appropriately. The recording isn't great
using the stock mic of the Gateway CX-2610, but the headset works fine.

rhanks-what is MPC? I also have problems I have discovered inserting
documets as a picture since the servicepack 2 upgrade
