Sound set resetting after reboot

Hi,
I've successfully created a new sound set which works perfectly. However, every time I reboot the Mac the sound set reverts to the Default one. But, if I just quit Entourage and relaunch it, the sound set remains with my newly created one.

Anyone got an idea of what is going on, and how I can get my new sound set to stick?

Converting or Creating Sound Sets for Entourage 2008

Let me know if this solves your problem.

Hi,

Thanks, I'd already seen this article and followed it to the letter to get to the point where the sounds are working fine.

I have no problem with creating my own sounds and getting Entourage to recognise and play them.

It's only after a reboot of my Mac that Entourage decides to revert the sound set from my new one to the Default one. Even if I quit Entourage and relaunch it, the new sound set is still selected.

What could be happening in the reboot that changes the setting?

What could be happening in the reboot that changes the setting?

I imagine there is some setting in a file that defaults to the original
sound set. I like custom sounds so haven't gotten into sound sets. To me
just new mail sound is worthless. I want it to tell me if it's mail from a
buddy, a family member, important mail, support mail etc.

See this page for using custom sounds with Entourage. You can even create
your own sounds or use computer voices to announce your mail. For example,
you could have the AppleScript say ³Mail from Dad². I use a combo of sounds
and verbal announcements.
