I know this may seem stupid, but I am e-mailing a pps that has a sound file
associated with the slide show. when e-mailing it the sound does not play
during the slide show. what have I done wrong?
Most sounds in PowerPoint are external to the PowerPoint file. That is, you
will generally have your PowerPoint file (.pps) and a sound file (.wav,
..wma, .mp3, ...). If the sound is an external file, it has to stay with the
PowerPoint file. The best thing to do is put the sound file in the same
folder as the PowerPoint file and then insert the sound. When emailing, make
sure you email both.
There are many alternatives to this, including embedding the sound file into
the PowerPoint if it is a .wav file. For more information, check out:
Sounds/Movies don't play, images disappear or links break when I move or
email a presentation
