Sounds Now Gone fr Word

I downloaded the most recent update for MS Word, and after I rebooted,
all my sound cues no longer worked. Has anyone else had this problem?
I have a Power PC G5. It seems like a small thing, but when I'm typing
a paper and an error comes up, it's helpful to me to have sound so
that I can recognize it right away. The only sound download I've found
on the MS Website is a version for Windows. Any help/insight would be
appreciated!! L4W

Please disregard this post, as I found the box within Preferences -
"Provide Feedback with Sound" unchecked. I was unaware of this option
until I read a few older postings. Thanks for the info!! L4W

I hope this is not insultingly obvious.
It shouldn't happen by itself, but it might be worth making sure that
Word's Preferences » General » Provide feedback with sound
has not become unchecked.

Thanks, but in my second post timed 8:58 a.m. 0n 2/26, I did catch my
error of asking the question.

Hi Elliot & John -

Thanks Elliot for your input. Thanks John for letting me know about
the long lag times before responses are posted to this message board.
I appreciate both of your responses!! L4W

Thanks for getting back to update your question. Don't worry about it --
there is a lag between the servers, and we're used to it.

Most of us connect directly to the Microsoft server, but even that is a
group of servers in a "farm": there can be a 20-minute lag before a given
post replicates to all of them, and each person connects to a random "one"
of them.

People coming in through the Microsoft web interface get a lag of around an
hour. People coming in through Google, about four hours.

My local news server gives a lag of up to eight hours. Some parts of the
internet can take as much as ten days to pass a post on :)

So even though you did your best, your update was not there when Elliott
read the original :)

Cheers
