While upgrading from Project 2003 to Project 2007 out IT department failed to
close the project I was working on. The project is password protected and
saved to our shared drive. After the upgrade I was able to open the file,
make changes and save the file. The next day I received "password invalid".
I tried to open as read only and I receive:
"The operation cannot be completed because the source file contains invalid
project data or the total number of rows would exceed the limit of 1,048,000
rows in a project.
Validate the data in the source file, insert fewer rows, delete some rows,
or consider dividing your project into subprojects to provide more space for
tasks and resources."
I am able to open other Project files so I'm thinking leaving it open during
the upgrade caused the problem. But I also see I'm not the only one. My
problem is I cannot even open it as Read Only.
I tired renaming it, I tried inserting it, I tried Micorsoft Office
Diagnostics (which did find and fix one error but it doesn't tell me what
error was fixed.
Any other suggestions?
