source formatting doesn't keep source formatting

Hi,

I can never ever copy text and keep the formatting (which is what I want to
do so I don't have to change it back to what it was manually when I decide to
use it). I've tried "keep source formatting" but it does nothing.
Is Microsoft just stupid or is there some secret button that is in none of
their literature (outsourced I'm sure).
I really don't know why this is like this in the first place. I mean even a
simple program will paste exactly as you copied it - why won't this wonder
child?

Can you give an example of the copy/paste that fails? From a web page, a
word document, Mathematica or what?

John,
Unlike the original poster, I am very happy w/ OneNote, but I do have
problems with formatting on copy/paste. I'm typically coming from Word docs.
Usually they were stored in one of the older Word formats (2000/2003), but
look fine when I open them in word.

To summarize, tabs are screwed up! The position of tabbed phrases is off
to the left or right. I'm doing copy/paste from Word 2007 to OneNote 2007.
I also find I'm missing newlines when I get to OneNote (sometimes). All the
text is always there, but it is ... ugly.

I'm running on Vista, w/ SP1 applied to Office 2007, if that helps. Any
suggestions would be very welcome.
