SP1 fails

Same problem as everyone else. File missing. Re-installed everything - made
no difference. Just thought I'd mention it.

For every one of us there will be thousands with the same problem who don't
post here. What is Microsoft doing about this? When? Does anyone know?
What's the point of issuing an update if it won't install? Why not allow the
missing file to be downloaded?

Don't know about you, but I'm pissed off.

I'd add to this that I have alos done a Reg Clean.

And manually got in there and taken out rubish.

Office somehow corupts the Icons near the Clock.. Active
Task Icons. Is this a part of it for others too?

There are 2 things MS should get for their Butt and do...

1. Make a decent reg tool that's part of the registry
editor and not rely on someone else to do it for them.

2. Make a tool to clone HD so they can be replaced and
not expect Norton to do that for them and us to have to
shell out more bucks!

So this is where my reply to me went...

Yes Andrew I'm pissed off too!

Maybe we need to use the phone and get on the hold line
while we still can. I don't even care that I can't apply
updates anymore but I'd like to get past this repair
message thing.
