sp1 for Office 2007: Problem

After installing sp1--I encounter a window "Configuration Process" with the
message "Configuring Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007." This occurs every
time I open Outlook or Access. I'll let the process complete, close the
program, and when I restart either of these I have to sit through the whole
process again. And again. This is a frustrating waste of time. Can anyone
suggest anything?

I have experienced the same problem but have also lost the normal text
sensitive Help files in Outlook. The online help files seem to work.

I have the same problem but it only affects Outlook. All other Office Ent
2007 apps work fine.
I didn't install Outlook initially. Didn't like it, but then had to because
of work. I wonder if that maybe a problem. All my apps, including Outlook,
were working well until I applied SP1. Now, I get the "Configuration
Process" window everytime I start it and that happens whether I launch it as
an Administrator or a user. I cancel it and the subsequent install app and
then Outlook works just fine.

My guess is there must be a registry key that is not being updated properly.

I finally found a solution. I completely uninstalled Office 2007 and then
rebooted and then reinstalled it. After this, I installed the service pack,
which I had previously downloaded. So far so good.

Well to me anyway that's an unacceptable solution. That's far too much work
and the possibility of losing customizations is too great. MS needs to
provide a real solution to what is, I suspect, a simple registry fix.
