SP1 for Office 2007 shoved down the Update pipe early???

Why was SP1 for Office 2007 put into the Update list so early? We were told
it would be voluntary for as much as three months, yet I got it on two Vista
computers?

It's the inclusion into Automatic Updates that is being deferred (for 3-6
months, according to reports yesterday), not the inclusion in Microsoft
Updates, where it is voluntary.

If you are running the beta of Vista sp1 AU will deploy it.

Not to my knowledge. It is in RC, not my style. Of course, if they shot that
down the tube...

I have not dowloaded and installed SP1. And, even if I had, that was not what
we were told was going to happen.

Or is it being auto installed?

They've put it on Microsoft update, they are not auto installing (I
don't think)

I am sure that you are not purposely splitting hairs, but that is how it
reads. I have all updates on notification. NOthing installs automatically;
but notification is part of the AU scheme of things. So, does that count as
AU?

I went through every update and read the details. I do not remember seeing
anything on Office 2007.

When I click on About in Outlook Help, it now reads
Microsoft Office Outlook..... SP1 MSO (12.0.6213.1000).
The original build number is 12.0.6212.1000

So, I think that you must conclude that it has been installed.

But was it installed via automatic update or was it that you had notify
me of patches, and then you clicked to install?
