SP1 loading error #1238 patch to config.msi\ptb1.tmp.

I have installed ms oFFICE xp PROFESSIONAL.
I can not update with SP1 and without that, I can't get
any futher updates!

Error 1328 applying patch to C:\config.msi\PTB1.tmp

Please advise. anyone got a clue as to what I can do?
