SP2 Bug: Entourage 2004 not saving window state properly

My system: Entourage 2004 SP2 on Mac OS X 10.4.2.

I use Entourage with 3 separate windows open: Mail, Tasks, and Calendar.
Entourage is normally good about remembering my open windows, as well as
their positions on the screen. However, the introduction of SP2 introduced a
new bug whereby Entourage will replace my Tasks and Calendar window with two
over-lapping Address Book windows. (That is, it only remembers the state of
the Mail window, and forgets the position information for one of my
windows). Here's how to replicate this bug:

1. Make sure 3 separate windows in Entourage are open: Mail, Tasks and
Calendar. Position each window differently on the screen. (You can right
click on the icons that correspond to these functions to open them in new
windows.)

2. Close Entourage and reopen. The windows should be just as you left them.

3. Now create a new mail message and save it as a draft.

4. Close Entourage and reopen. The Tasks and Calendar window should now be
replaced by Address Book windows which will likely be positioned identically
on the screen.

Can anyone else replicate this bug? I really appreciate the fact that
Entourage remembers the state of the application when I close it, and I
would love for that to continue into the future.

Thanks,

Aldo

I just posted a topic including this apparent bug with SP2. Yes, I am
experiencing a very similar thing. I assumed I had corrupted
preferences files, but I have deleted those and allowed the be rebuilt,
still to no avail. So far SP2 has been a disaster for me. I think I am
going to try and go back to old version, but that i sgoing to be a pain.

I¹ve always had a bootable back-up on an external drive, but this is the
first time that I¹ve actually had to rely on it. I just copied my back-up
onto my internal hard drive which took me back to the previous version of
Entourage. I experienced some of the things that you described. The
Entourage window was blinking and I couldn¹t shut it down. I¹ve posted a
message advising others to not ³update².

Likewise here. I keep Mail, Calendar, Tasks, & Address Book open, and
sometimes Project Center. Since SP2, sometimes when I restart Entourage, the
Mail window will not be the same size when I exited, or I¹ll wind up with 2
or 3 different Address Book windows. I was totally frustrated by this, but
at least I know I¹m not alone.

I find the same occurs when I just put my iMac to sleep for awhile.
Very annoying. I have also discovered a lot of servers listed in the
View panel of my Address Book, things like bigfoot and four11 which the
comoputer ries to connect with from time to time. Anybody know how to
get rid of them?
