SP2 will not install

I have downloaded and attempted to install SP2 for Office 2003 but it
doesn't intstall properly. I manage to download, initialize and go thru the
motions of an intstall but it fails. No error message or anything - it just
indicates that it wasn't succesful.

The only thing I find in a log is the following:

Does anyone have any idea(s) on how to correct this?

Thanks!

I am having the same problem getting Office 2003 SP2 downloaded sucessfully.

When I run MS Office Update Wizard on any computer in my office network, the
update nearly always fails with the message "Installation unsucessfull". This
occurs in the browser popup window for the Update Wizard, Step 3 of 3. (I
did have a lucky day last week and was able to get a few updates done. Today,
ten downloads have all had been corrupted!)

I have tried ALL of the suggestions in the two troubleshooting KB listings
you provided. No luck. None of the log files it is recomended to review
appear on my PC.

When I do a manual download, then execute the file manualy (e.g.,
c:\...\Office2003SP2 /c), I first see a Open File - Security Warning dialog
box that tells me the "Publisher cannot be verified. Are you sure you want to
run this file?" The publisher is listed as Unknown Publisher. Then when I say
yes, and select a place to extract the files to, the extraction fails at some
point with the following error message: "Extracting file failed. It is most
likely caused by low memory (low disk space for swapping file) or a corrupted
Cabinet file."
I do not have low disk space on any of the PCs I have used. Also, multiple
manual downloaded files (using multiple browsers) all fail at different
points in Cab extraction, so it is not the same compressed file being
corrupted on each download, but, there is always something corrupted.

I am wondering now what is going on in the browser download function
that allows files to to be transfered without checking the file integrity
during a file transfer. Shouldn't the browser be doing a checksum or
something to verify the transfer? Is there a more reliable method of doing a
manual download from Microsoft than using IE?

Thanks, David Jonathan
