sp3 error

1. update scan for office xp returns 'unable to check
for updates' and the 4 possible solutions.
2. scan for windows xp updates, and subsequent
downloads, work perfectly.
3. i downloaded office sp3 but when it's run get 'hotfix
installer encountered a problem'.
the error report to microsoft is:

please advise what to try next
