SP3 install cancelled - now Office won't run

I downloaded SP3 adn aborted the install when it asked for the disk that will
take me days (maybe weeks) to find. I'll accept the 'security risks' that
would have been fixed for now in order to keep working.

However each time I try to start an Office program, the SP install is
re-initiated - canceling simply closes the program I was trying to open.

Please help me get back in business! I'm desparate!

have you tried gong to a restore point prior to the sp3 install/abort?

Did you hit Cancel or you just closed the SP3 install with the small x

System Restore will not do for Office. It is for the OS

Cancel. Then the popup ran the progress bar backwards, etc. Seemed like I
completed the 'cancel process' but here I am ransacking my house for the disc.

I suspect its some regitry entry, but I don't root around in there without
knowledgable guidance (hopefully yours).

well on the advice of others for a different application, it worked for me.

and it beats ransacking the house for discs, too.
