Hi SGC,
You may want to compare the title on the Microsoft'
Office CD to see if it matches the edition listed
in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel.
Pro.MSI is for the MS Office XP Professional Edition
rather than the Small Business Edition. Some PC suppliers
create hard drive images in error that don't match the
CD of the edition you purchased. You can obtain the
matching edition from the PC supplier or, backup your
files, uninstall the edition presently in use, restart
your PC and install from the CD that you do have.
'Circumventing' the CD requirement for an update doesn't
preclude you from needing it in the future for a repair
or feature change.
=====
similar problem as others - I insert my Office small business CD after
install of SP3 and it can't find file on CD. I think it was looking for
pro.msi
then site talks about a full file download to circumvent but I can't find it
anywhere "more info" link does not take you to full file download>>
