i would like to assign delegations to seats in a conference room.

i have imported a floor plan as a jpg and locked the layer. in excel i have created a spreadsheet with unique seat numbers and names of countries.

i can import the data from excel as "person" and drag the person shape out of unplaced data onto the floor plan - but the default shape is far too big and i have to change the dimensions each time i drag a person shape out of unplaced data.

Is there a way to default the shape to the dimensions i want before i import the data?

and second, how can i wrap country names onto two lines - i have looked everywhere but cannot find a text wrap feature.

i would be grateful for any advice.

Hi Patricia,

After adding one person shape to the diagram, you may be able to modify the "master shape" for the person. Go to File > Shapes > Show Document Stencil. Double-click the person shape to edit it. Resize the person and close the window, accepting changes. Hopefully subsequent shapes adopt this new size.

Text wrapping is automatic on shapes. If you are not seeing the text wrap, the shape has probably been designed to fit all the text on a single line. The text of a shape fits inside a "text block". You can use the Text Block tool to resize this text block and control the wrapping. Look on the Standard toolbar for the Text tool (the letter A) and click the little down arrow next to it. Then select the Text Block tool and resize the rectangle to create the boundaries you desire.

It is possible that the solutions above do not work for the particular shape you are using. Some shapes are not designed to be customized by users.
