Spacebar adding two spaces instead of one

Wow, you think you've seen everything.......

I'm typing a sentence in Word, and hit space and the cursor jumps up two
spaces instead of one, leaving large gaps.

Of course, it's not consistent on every line or even on the lines its doing
that.

No need to post screen shots (which you shouldn't do on the newsgroup
anyway). It's not a Word issue. Chances are you've got crumbs, dirt, dust,
whatever in your keyboard. Get a bottle of compressed air (from a camera
shop), and use it on your keyboard to clean out the gunk.
