spacing/formatting errors

Hi, I recently upgraded to Word 2002 from Word 2000 and I
noticed that there are errors in spacing. For example,
single space is actually 1.5 space, and double space is
actually quadruple space. I installed it on 2 other
computers, and the spacing is normal on those, but not on
this one. I know how to change spacing (format,
paragraph) and the spacing options before and after are
both at 0 pt and I've tried changing everything but still
no luck. Any solutions? thanks in advance.

p.s. reinstalling it didnt help either...

Make sure that the vertical alignment (Layout tab of Page Setup) is set to
Top and not Justified.

[single line spacing looks more like 1.5 line spacing]

What font do you use? Large Unicode fonts need more space, since they
contain special characters with large ascenders and descenders.

You're probably better off with line spacing set to "Exactly".
About 120% of the font size usually looks good (line spacing 12 pt for 10
pt text...).

I'm not sure why line spacing might look so very different on your
different machines. Maybe it's different fonts (which you could check in
"Tools > Compatibility > Font substitution"), maybe a different printer
driver (unlikely to cause so much of a difference), or maybe different
compatibility options?

Greetings,
Klaus
