Help!
The Notebook feature of Office 2004 is terrific in lots of ways. I'm
often writing large documents and it's proving a great way to help me
organize my ideas. However, there's one bug I just can't seem to
figure out how to work around.
When I'm finished organizing and rewriting in "Notebook view" I try to
go back to the Normal view so I can clean up the copy, format
subheads, etc.
But even when I select the text and try to turn it back to my "Normal"
setting... although the font changes... for some reason the line
spacing stubbornly refuses to go back to the proper spacing.
I've checked all the style settings. And I've tested the use of normal
in documents I've just opened. Line spacing is single. Yet going
back from Notebook to Normal I always get a 1.5 spacing (or something
close to it) which cannot be changed even if I try through Format or
the styles menu or anything.
The only solution I've found is to cut the text and paste it, in small
chunks, into an entirely new document. And it has to be small chunks
too. Otherwise the newly pasted stuff forces the entire NEW document
to pick up the odd spacing problem.
I recently had to do this with a document that was 117 pages long,
re-pasting maybe two pages at a time.
Anyone have any suggestions? If I can get this to work it will make
this a monumentally more useful program for me. A solution to some
problems I've had a long time. But this spacing thing is driving me
crazy!
Thanks in advance,
JF
P.S. I've tried changing the style settings for the different note
level views. Didn't work.
