spacing problem

I am using microsoft word. I found out how to condense
and expand. How do I make the spacing between words
larger?

vague Vertical space or horizontal space?

If vertical: change the space before and space after of the style /
paragraphs

if horizontal: find and replace a space with an em space or other /
multiple spacing characters.
