spacing problems

I would like to know how to set my spacing back to the default because my friend was messing with it trying to make my paper look longer and now i cannot get my margins to go back

Are you sure it's the Margins that are the problem? Are you sure it's a
global issue & not specific to the one document?

If so, open a new blank document, go to Format> Document, change the margins
to 1" Top & Bottom, 1.25" Left & Right, then click the Default button before
hitting the OK button.

You'll still have to individually reset the margins for any document which
actually may have had the margins changed.
