Hi all,
This is an extremely neat add in for Outlook. It's successfully filtering 99% of my spam messages. You have to take a little time to train it. But, it's worth it. Actually, it took less time than to set up Outlook filters. Hope you enjoy it.

I recently read about an Outlook plug-in that tested to be extremely
accurate in recognizing and dealing with spam.
The best part is that this plug-in is a free download.
Columnist Jon Udell reported in the May 19 InfoWorld that SpamBayes, a free
download that adds a whole new level of filtering to Outlook, works with a
growing accuracy. He actually had excellent results from the start, but the
software tracks your actions on messages and improves over time.
It works by doing a word-by-word content analysis of every message you look
at. If you assign the message to a folder you have designated as a spam
folder it ranks the words in that message as words used in spam in the
past. Over time it "learns" the probability of whether any given word is
used in spam or not. Messages that rank high in spam words get moved to the
spam folder.
The analysis follows a statistical inference theorem developed by a
Presbyterian minister three centuries ago. His name was Thomas Bayes and
his method is called Bayesian analysis.
I think I'll try this little plug-in out.
You can review real life experiences on the spambayes user list at:

I find reading these kinds of lists gives a warped view, though. You are
getting largely the problems. The clean installs seldom produce messages.
Hence, I'd be interested in any real experiences for any of you.
