SPAM mails - How to report them.

How do I easily report (and block) spam mail to help other Internet users?
Is there a central organisation to try to stop this fraud?
Today I was suprised to recieve a 'bargain' investment invitation from:

Thanks William, but that link < http://www.usdoj.gov/spam.htm > does not
really help me as I'm in "old" Europe, not yet under US jurisdiction.
This US government site is long and complex to follow and seems to be for
their Hurricane Katrina.
Any other ideas please?

you could try http://cauce.org, but they may be US only too. try
searching using unsolicited commercial email as a query and you're
likely to find official sites.

A good place to report spam (and contribute to the blocking list) is
http://www.spamcop.net/

P.S. please note the difference between spam (which most people dislike)
and SPAM, which is a registered trademark of Hormel Foods.

Many thanks Pat, I shall try that.

I see this reply on another conversation:

There's a better solution out there, one which adapts to the particular
type of spam your account gets, so if the spammers switch from images
to something else, it will switch also. It's called SpamBayes. Do a
google search for SpamBayes, go to the first link, and download the
windows outlook add-in. I use it and it works great.
