Spanish Grammar Checker

The new Office 2004 appears to not have a grammar checker for Spanish.
Is there a separate program with will work with Word that will check a
paragraph or page for grammar errors in Spanish?

Have you tagged the language as Spanish? I thought (but am not using 2004
yet) that Spanish came with it. However, you have to format the words as
Spanish (Format | Language, or add to the style definition) for Word to know
to use the Spanish tools for it when you run spellcheck.

It's tagged as Spanish. Spell checking works fine, but grammar
checking is greyed out.

That's because there is no grammar tool for Spanish in Office :-( Only
spelling and thesaurus
You'll need a third party tool :-<

Doug,

Can you please confirm that spell checking in Spanish works for you on
Word 2004 with Mac OS X 10.3.5?

It does not work for me (error: "the custom dictionary Spanish is not
available").

This error shows when I have a custom dictionary set as "Spanish" (not
as "none"; see below) and then spell check Spanish text. Actually, it
shows also just after creating a custom dictionary as Spanish and then
closing such window at "Word/Preferences/Spelling &
grammar/Dictionaries".

No problem if I set the custom dictionary as "none" instead of
"Spanish" and then spell check Spanish text.

No problem with other languages like English, French or German.

Weird to me.

Thanks.
