Need more help: MS Office Excel for MAC 2008 help says that I can get special
characters for insert thru the edit pull down menu. So far I do not see this
option. Is there another way or am I doing it wrong

Hmmm... I don't see those instructions anywhere in XL08 help. Instead,
in the topic "Insert a bullet, symbol, or special character" there are
these instructions:

1. Double-click the cell, and then place the cursor where you
want the bullet or other symbol to appear.
2. On the View menu, click Object Palette.
3. Click Symbols .
4. Click the bullet or symbol that you want to insert.

In addition to the Symbols pane of the Object Palette you might want to
investigate the OS X feature called the Character Palette. Check it out in
Mac Help - it provides a far greater range of symbols & glyphs... Plus it's
available in any app, not just Office programs.
