Hi all,
I'm working on a document with appendices in separate files. I'm using
styles to create a TOC, and I've figured out how to import the TOCs of all
the documents into a separate TOC file using the RD field.
However, I have a work requirement to update the page numbers of the TOC to
reflect the letter used for the appendix, like this:
1.1 Text text text..........................C-1
1.2 Text text text..........................C-4
I've been manually typing in the C- before the page number, but of course it
disappears everytime I refresh the TOC.
Is there some way I can automate this process? The document I'm working on
has 20+ pages in the TOC, over 600 pages of text altogether, and the
appendices are massive.
I've tried:
* /p switch in the TOC field
* Chapter numbering from the page numbering format button (each appendix
document needs to be the same chapter, but I'm using the actual chapters in
the document already, as in 1. Chapter 1, 1.1 Subchapter .1 of Chapter 1,
etc. I don't want 1.1-1, but C-1, if that makes any sense.)
* updating the {PAGE} field as follows {PAGE \# "C-#"} (please note - is not
a minus sign but an n-dash) (This updates the page number nicely, but does
not update the TOC.)
Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
