I recently obtained trials of MS Office 2008 Professional & MS Windows XP, as
well as internet access through Comcast. I also, while setting up, and
having initial problems with the Comcast access, wound up installing MSN.
Somewhere along the line, I found a list of effects that could be applied to
sounds...such as sewer pipe, stones, etc. I now have the sewer pipe effect
in the background behind every sound that comes from the computer, except for
the initial launch each time I start it.
It makes it nearly impossible to understand audio, especially speech in
training platforms, etc.
I want to remove it, but I can't figure out how. I've tried Start/Control
Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices/Sounds/Sound Scheme/Windows Default...it does
not seem to make any difference.
How do I get rid of special effect sounds?
