Outlook 2003 and i'm not sure what you mean by account type, sorry.
As I was reading this I realized I don't currently have other rules set up
on this computer and tried setting up one. It says its set up and applied
but
its not working either. I've set up rules in the past and haven't had
problems.
I'm trying to set up a rule that plays a specific wav when i get an email
message from my husband. I'm spending a lot of time on homework and thought
it would be great if when he emails me I could hear a sound to alert me
instead of constantly looking over to the computer to see if he had written
me.

What version of Outlook are we talking about here?
What account type are you using?
Do you have other rules configured? Do they work?
What is the EXACT rule you've created?

I'm trying to set up a special sound for one person in my contact list.
I've
followed the instruction on creating a new rule and it doesn't work. I
can
go
into my control panel and change the sound notification for new mail
alert
but still can't get the special notification for one person. Any advice
or
ideas?
Thanks!
