Specific response in a conditional field to provide another field

I have a table, MAINTbl, with a combo box lookup field CONFLICTLUp, which
gets its data from WARSTbl. Only when CivilWar is selected in the CONFLICTLUp
I want another lookup field, SIDELUp, to present itself on the form, pulling
its choices from SIDETbl.
Using the expression builder I have tried to compose a condition for
CONFLICTLUp (IF=â€CivilWar†then ????) but can not see any appropriate
conditions or get it to work?
