Speech marks hels

J

Jerri

Hey,

Hope someone can help, I'd like to change Word 2003's speech marks to just
regular standard one like this " as opposed to these “ which is seems to use
by default. I know it's possible as I've done it before but I can't remember
how I did it.

I do a lot of work on my pocket PC which uses regular speech marks then when
I edit it with word I end up having two different sets of speech marks. Or
having to replace all the ones from the PPC. Get's a bit annoying.

So can anyone tell me how it's done?

Thanks in advance.

First go to Tools > AutoCorrect Options > AutoFormat As You Type and
uncheck the box for "Straight quotes". That will prevent Word from
replacing them.

Then open the Replace dialog. Type the " character in both the Find
and Replace boxes, and click the Replace All button.
