When using the MS Office speech recognition feature, am I right in thinking
that following proper configuration the contents of my digital voice
recognition recorder will be displayed on the screen and available for both
reading and printing. advice would be appreciated.

Hi I.M.,

If you're referring to plugging in an external recorder rather than a microphone to 'read' into MS Office 2003 Speech recognition
(basically 'fooling' the program into thinking you're speaking) that can get a bit tricky. The recorder playback speed and tonality
would need to be similar to you speaking during training.

There are 3rd party products, including some versions of Dragon (http://nuance.com) that specifically support recorders.

If you're dictating using U.S. English module after having trained speech recognition then in dictation mode while in Word you
should get text 'typed' as you speak.
