My friend has speech to text feature on his mac office but he forgot
how to activate it, does anyone know how i can use speech to text on my
2004 student edtion

AFAIK, Speech-to-text can only be provided by a separate application,
such as iListen, viaVoice, etc.

MacOS has Speech recognition available for "speakable items", e.g.,
commands, but not for turning speech into text. Access that from the
System Preferences/Speech pane.

MacOffice has built-in Text-to-Speech, which can be accessed from the
Speech toolbar (View/Toolbars/Speech).
