How do I get text to speech to work in word x under osx?

Hello,

Apple's OS X Speech Services are not available in Office for the Mac, and
unfortunately Word's "Word Speak" is not available in Word X. (It is
available in Word 2001 & Word 2004, though)

The best workaround I can suggest is to copy and paste your text into Text
Edit, select it and use Apple's Speech functionality under "Text Edit |
Services" in the menu bar.

Hi Tim,

In Word 2004 there is a speech toolbar.

Older versions of word need a speech add-in. It was called WordSpeak. If
you're lucky you might be able to find a copy on the internet. It was in the
value pack of Office 98, I think. That was a while ago.
