Speed up comment appearance time

Hi there,

Does anyone know if there is a way to speed up the time it takes for a
comment to appear when hovering the mouse over a shape? I've inserted some
custom properties into the comment cell but there is quite a delay before it
appears.

I was wondering if I could write something into a file open procedure?

This is controlled by a Registry setting:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Visio\Application\MousePauseTime

Enter the value in milliseconds that you want.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I couldn't see
"........\MousePauseTime" key in that location (I checked several times that
I was in the right place).

Does this depend on having the "Put all settings in Windows registry" box
checked (mine isn't) in the Visio\Tools\Advanced tab?

Just FYI I'm using Visio 2003 Std. Edition, with XP Pro SP1.

Any clues?

Visio, like other Office applications, has hundreds of registry settings.
To avoid bloating the registry, many of these settings are only written when
the value stored is not the default. You can use the checkbox on the
Advanced tab to see all these, or you can create your own entry with the
proper name.
