Speed up foreign language corrections in Word 2007

I have just begun using Word 2007 and correcting language errors in French or
even English show up about six or seven seconds after the change has been
marked.

Can anyone suggest how to speed up the process. Word 2003 was instantaneous.

It is usually virtually instantaneous in Word 2007 too, which suggests
something is not happy.

Is this an upgrade or a fresh install on a new PC?
Have you patched both Word and OS up to date?
Are other drivers such as the printer and graphics fully up to date?

Any of these may have a significant effect on Word's performance.
