spell check and grammar MSO 2007 Outlook/Word

kermor

Hello,
I use for my work, three languages: English, Spanish and French.

The spell check and the grammar whenever they feel do to their work, they
will if I’m blessed.
I was hoping and thinking from the 0ld MSO 2003 version to MSO 2007, 4 years
already, big improvements were made!!! Microsoft will truly reinforce,
enhance that OPTION… Not much change has been made and as I said, both of
them are not doing their work… lucky I m to be trilingual.
How can I make sure that functionality works whenever I need 100% operational?

Many thanks for your help,

Hi Kermor,

Thank you for your feedback. It would be good if you were a little more
specific as to the problems you seem to have with these proofing tools. There
have been several improvements and enhancements for the three languages in
Office 2007:

1. English: Introduction of a brand-new contextual speller which flags
contextual mistakes with blue squiggles: try a sentence such as: I am loosing
my time here. Or: He is taller then his brother. You will see the blue wavy
lines under “loosing†and “then†with the correct suggestions (losing, than).
See our blogs for more details about this new tool:

The English spell-checker has also been improved and the coverage of its
lexicon has been expanded:

2. French: the French speller in Office 2007 is radically different from the
one in Office 2003 (the replacement occurred with Office 2003 SP2, in fact)
and the grammar checker is also more powerful than the one in Office 2003.
The French speller now recognizes the spelling reform and even obtained a
quality label:

see http://blogs.msdn.com/naturallanguage/archive/2006/07/05/656998.aspx ;
some other improvements are described here in French:

3. Spanish also has a new contextual speller in Office 2007.

I would be very happy if you could provide us with some feedback about what
you feel is not working, which would enable us to consider possible
improvements for future versions. When you say “both of them are not doing
their workâ€, could you provide examples?

Thank you so much for your help,

Thierry
