And you have replaced your Normal template?
(By first re-naming it, and also re-naming any other copies you might have
of the Normal template from Word X or Word 2004). When Word 2008 creates a
new template, it brings in settings from the previous version of Normal if
it can find it, and they could cause this problem.
Also: Re-name your Custom Dictionary.
Now, try again...

No sir. This is in regular text, misspelled words in the body of Normal
template document. Doesn't seem to matter what word or what kind.
