spell check does not imported unicode char from custom dictionary

Spell check in composition using Outlook 2000 SP3 (9.0.0.6627)

Importing words from my custom dictionary containing Unicode characters (ie
u with acute, U+0171) has char replaced by question mark.

Custom dictionary edit with notepad shows correct character
