Spell Check Error

Andrew

For some reason I cannot get microsoft to run spell
check. I do have a custom.dic file in the proper place
(//Microsoft/proof/). When I open the options menu under
word, outlook express, etc. it does not even allow me the
option of editing anything to do with spell check. (All
the options are shaded) Grammer check is the only option
that works!

Any ideas?

If you are running Office 97 on Windows 2000 or Windows XP see

Please respond in the same thread on this newsgroup. Make sure you

or not you have included any service pack updates.

I am currently running word 97 for Windows 98 - so am
unable to run the Regedt32.exe file or fix it via that
method. Under the properties for word it says that it is
Microsoft Word for Windows® 97.

Since it's Windows 98, the issue would be something different. Possibly the
proofing tools aren't installed. Try reinstalling them by using Office setup
in maintenance mode.
