Spell Check in 2007 Word

Spell checking is not working. I made sure "Check spelling as you type" is
turned on in Word Options. Regular spelling errors are not caught but things
like duplicate words are indicated.

I am in a classroom with 15 students. None of the others are having this
problem. THanks for any suggestions.
