Spell Check macro locking up Word

They've tightened security in Word with Office Service Release 3. One of
the things it may no longer allow is the kind of manipulation that macro
does. Sorry...

I have been using the spell check macro found at
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/MacrosVBA/SpellcheckProtectDoc.htm for several
months now on several different computers. Now all of a sudden it seems to be
locking up Word completely and having to CTRL+ALT+DEL to get out of it, not
to mention losing all your work. Anyone else experience this or have a
solution?

Do you know if there is a new Macro to do the trick?

It's not the "Macro" that is being prevented, it's "What the macro does".
So it's unlikely that we can write as macro to do what that one does without
it too being disabled by the latest security measures.

That macro does some fairly spectacular manipulations :)

There is a way to return just the text strings from the protected fields and
spell-check those, without needing to release the protection status.

Maybe someone will get around to writing a macro taking that approach. But
it's not going to happen soon, it requires even more serious coding :)

Cheers
