Spell Check Macro

C

Cicely Waldrop

I am not that great with macros and I was wondering how I would go about
creating a spell check macro that ignores (doesn't check) words
formatted in a certain style. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Cicely

Wouldn't it be easier to put "Do not check spelling or grammar" in the
style definition?

Yes, it would. Thank you! I never knew that option was there, but I just
found it! Thanks so much!

You don't need a macro for that. Just make "do not check spelling"
part of the definition of that style.

The directions for getting into the dialog differ a bit depending on
Word version.

- In Word 2002 or 2003, click Format > Styles and Formatting to open
the Styles task pane. Right-click the style and select Modify.

- In Word 2007, right-click the style in the Styles group on the Home
ribbon, and select Modify.

In the Modify Style dialog, click the Format button and select
Language. In the Language dialog, check the box for "Do not check
spelling or grammar".
