Hello,
The following was spell-checked in Word and was declared OK.
But it's not. Now we feel we cannot trust spell check, which is unfortunate
and we have to waste time reading through everything.
Comments, please. Help.

Thanks.

If obvious misspellings are not caught by the spelling checker, it's likely
that the text in question has been formatted as "(no proofing)." Select the
text, go to Tools | Language | Set Language, and make sure that the correct
language is selected and that (in Word 2000 and above) the box for "Do not
check spelling or grammar" is *not* checked.

Suzanne,
Thanks for your reply.
I did what you suggested, and that's not it. Correct language is there and
no such box was checked.

I solved it!
I poked around this discussion board, then clicked on
"Tools, Options, Spelling and Grammar"
Then "Check Document" to reset the speller, and it worked! If found it and
others, too....
Thanks to all the posters and Microsoft for providing this forum.
