Spell Check not working in PowerPoint 2007

The Spell Checker will not activate for comments nor for selected text.
Invoking the spell checker in PowerPoint will only initiate a spell check of
the entire presentation.
Open and review an existing presentation.
Use the Comments for annotating the charts during the review.
If you attempt to use the spell check feature on the Comment, it will not do
it, it does a spell check on the entire presentation and ignores the comments.
If you select to edit the comment and highlight specific text then select
spell check, it does a spell check on the entire presentation and ignores the
highlighted text.
Has anyone else observed this behavior?

If that is a conscience decision, then when text is highlighted in the
Comment or your are in the Comment function, the Spell Check function should
be grayed out and disabled. If it will not function while editing a comment,
then selecting (or attempting to select) spell check should not change your
focus from the comment to some random place in the document that has a
misspelled or unrecognized word.
