Spell check not working on word template

Hi.

I am using Office X on OS 10.3 and I have recently noticed that when I use a
template in microsoft word the spell check does not work. I can write any
rubbish word and it lets me continue. If I then do a spell check it tells me
that the spell check is complete "text set yo (no proofing) was skipped. To
find (no proofing) text, click Edit/Replace, click More, Click Format, click
language and choose (no proofing)."

However if I start a new document the spell check is working fine. Has
anyone seen this before.

Cheers

You clearly have some text in there set to "no proofing." Did you follow
the directions to find it? You have to assign a language to the text for
Word to spellcheck it.

To assign a language, select all text and use Tools | Language.

This may have happened if you pasted in some text that was already set to No
Proofing, and then kept hitting enter and typing from that block of text. If
it happens in all new documents from that template, then you need to change
the default paragraph in that template. Open up the template and use Format
| Style to set the Language properly.
