spell check of words with nonbreaking hyphens

Since installation of the service pack for Word 2007, all hyphenated words
containing non-breaking hyphens show as spelling errors. Adding to the
dictionary doesn't help either. Any suggestions?

This would be more at home in microsoft.public.word.spelling.grammar
newsgroup. It is hardly an application error.

You're probably correct, becasue I'm new at this, but as it's a bug in Word
I'm asking for assistance on, doesn't that qualify as an 'application error'?

I will, however, follwo your advice and change its home.

Hi Cynthia,

What language is set for the words that you're checking? Inserting non-breaking hyphens (ctrl+hyphen) into words isn't causing
issues for me in a new document unless I apply French, for example, to English words.
