Spell check (Office 2007) disables after WSUS release updates

Hi all,

I have noticed that everytime WSUS release windows updates to clients, users
are complaining that their spell check is no longer working. When I go to
comfirm this, the 'Check spelling as you type' is unchecked. We have
rechecked and it continues to happen every update cycle.

Anyone have any suggestions why this would be happening? or even better, a
solution to overcome this issue?

Hello Angie,

You've landed in a discussion group for users of Mac versions of Word (not
your fault: it's a charming foible of MS's "discussions" web interface,
which I see you used). Mac versions differ variously from PC versions, and
of course the operating system is completely different. Although several
people here use both PCs and Macs and may give you an answer soon, it's
likely that more people in a PC group have experienced your specific

You should give explicit details of your version of Word and Windows.
